I've begun a new class and therefore a new webpage where I can collect all of my thoughts, projects, etc. This page is dedicated to my final unit project for Lesley's EComp 6106, a work in progress. Thus far, I have come to make only one important decision- what my unit will be about. In the 3rd quarter of 3rd grade, I will be teaching the kids about GA's habitats and their inhabitants. The standard covers a broad territory, so I thought it would lend itself to creativity and technology integration in my unit design.
The standard states:
S3L1. Students will investigate the habitats of different organisms and the dependence of organisms on their habitat.
a. Differentiate between habitats of Georgia (mountains, marsh/swamp, coast, Piedmont, Atlantic Ocean) and the organisms that live there.
b. Identify features of green plants that allow them to live and thrive in different regions of Georgia.
c. Identify features of animals that allow them to live and thrive in different regions of Georgia.
d. Explain what will happen to an organism if the habitat is changed.
